We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Acoustic Consultant to join our client''s dynamic team. Responsibilities
As a Principal Acoustic Consultant, your key responsibilities will include:
- Taking full ownership of projects, from briefing and planning to delivery and ensuring technical quality.
- Providing expert advice directly to clients.
- Conducting detailed and complex acoustic calculations and modelling.
- Producing high-quality technical reports and performing peer reviews.
- Conducting on-site environmental noise measurements and sound insulation testing.
Qualifications
Essential:
- A degree or master''s in Acoustics, or a STEM degree with a Postgraduate Diploma in Acoustics.
- Membership of the Institute of Acoustics (Associate or Full Membership).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to write clear, concise, and accurate reports.
- Proven experience in planning and conducting noise surveys.
- Expertise in building acoustics, including acoustic design for residential, office, school, and healthcare developments.
- Proficiency in environmental acoustics, including BS 4142 noise impact assessments and planning-stage noise assessments for residential and commercial applications.
- Experience with BREEAM Hea 05 and Pol 05 assessments.
- A full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
- Experience in sound insulation testing and on-site acoustic testing.
- Familiarity with CadnaA noise modelling software, particularly for BS 5228 Construction Noise Assessment.
- Experience using room acoustic calculation software such as CATT or ODEON.
- Flexibility in location, with a preference for candidates based south of Birmingham.
- Strong team collaboration skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent IT proficiency.
Day-to-Day
Your daily activities will include:
- Collaborating with architects, engineers, developers, and clients to design and implement effective acoustic solutions.
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
- Conducting site visits for noise measurements and testing.
- Preparing and reviewing technical reports to meet regulatory and client requirements.
- Utilizing advanced acoustic modelling and calculation software to develop innovative solutions.
