Research Engagement Manager, Genomics

Role Overview
Role Summary:
We are seeking a scientist to act as a key connector of our AI Genomics research models (AlphaGenome, AlphaMissense) with the global scientific community. You will be responsible for ensuring users can achieve maximum impact by fostering community adoption, gathering expert feedback to guide future development, and identifying novel applications. This role requires a blend of deep genomics expertise and strong technical communication skills. You will work closely with our Research, Product, and Partnership teams to bridge the gap between our foundational models and their real-world application in research.Duration:
12 months ideally (minimum 6-month engagement considered)Core Responsibilities
Scientific Community Engagement and Support:
Develop and deliver technical workshops, presentations, and training materials to users of AlphaGenome at scientific conferences.Develop clear documentation, tutorials, and best-practice guides for a technical audience.Manage and contribute to technical user inquiries and foster a collaborative user community.
Feedback Synthesis and Research Application:
Synthesise community feedback and technical challenges on using AlphaGenome into insights that guide our internal research and product development.Conduct literature reviews and engage with the community to identify high-impact or novel applications of our technologies.
Impact Dissemination:
Collaborate with researchers to develop technical case studies and scientific use cases demonstrating the utility and impact of our models.Partner with internal teams (Communications, Policy, etc.) to ensure the scientific accuracy and integrity of external-facing case studies and materials.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Core Scientific Expertise:
A strong background in genomics, bioinformatics, computational biology, or a related field is essential (e.g., PhD or equivalent research experience). You have hands-on experience using computational tools and AI/ML models to solve biological problems.Technical Communication:
Proven ability to communicate complex scientific and computational concepts clearly and accurately to diverse technical audiences. Experience in giving technical talks, running workshops, or developing documentation is highly valued.Researcher Empathy:
A deep understanding of the academic research environment, including the challenges, motivations, and workflows of our target users.Collaborative and Proactive:
Demonstrable experience working effectively across interdisciplinary teams.
