As the CSL Seqirus Head of Medical Affairs UK and Ireland, you will report into the Regional Head of Medical Affairs, EMEA; leading a team of medical affairs colleagues with scientific and clinical expertise. You will lead the team to execute all critical medical affairs functions, which include developing and executing the strategic medical plans for UK and Ireland, managing key thought-leader relationships, publishing data from corporate-sponsored trials, disseminating/presenting educational information on the portfolio, answering questions from healthcare clinicians and disease experts regarding product safety or efficacy that is not addressed in a product\''s label, and supporting research initiatives outside labelled indications for marketed products. You will collaborate with the Regional Medical Head in developing medical strategy and ensuring consistency of approach and deliverables for UK and Ireland Medical Affairs activities.

Responsibilities

Ensure CSL Seqirus Influenza and other respiratory viruses\'' portfolios medical plans are successfully developed and executed to achieve short- and long-term objectives and support CSL Seqirus.

Partner with commercial heads and ensure alignment on key strategies, deliverables and communication. Serve as Influenza and other vaccines champion/expert, effectively negotiating with and influencing key internal and external stakeholders.

Develop and lead a committed and innovative UK and Ireland Influenza and other vaccines Medical Affairs Team with the following objectives:

Provide quality and strategic medical input to achieve successful medical objectives for CSL Seqirus\'' Influenza and other vaccines in UK and Ireland

Engage with external experts, research partners, public health and government stakeholders to promulgate CSL Seqirus scientific platform and enhance company reputation

Provide medical governance into decision-making and issue management and external communications

Ensure local pharmacovigilance compliance

Provide medical leadership for CSL Seqirus Vaccine Portfolio

External Network Development and Management

Identify key opinion leaders in infectious disease and cultivate a network of influenza experts within a given geography/nationally for key areas of scope, vaccinology and antiviral therapies. Create an environment which serves to establish the medical team as the conduit for credible, accurate and updated scientific and medical information between KOLs, other investigators and CSL Seqirus\'' internal functions

Maintain excellent professional relationships with medical and public health experts, government officials, immunisation advisory committees such as JCVI, partner companies. Accountable for engaging and cultivating relationships with leading KOLs to gain contribution/ participation in advisory boards, greater understanding of influenza vaccines and insights into unmet patient needs

Represents CSL Seqirus at scientific and medical forums, including medical education forums, scientific roundtables, congresses, and symposia

Planning, designing and managing or participating in local, regional, national and global medical Advisory Boards including working with vendors in support of medical affairs strategies

Strategy and Scientific Expertise

Develop and design the UK and Ireland medical strategic plans for Influenza and other vaccines and work closely with the Regional Head of Medical Affairs to ensure the implementation of the Medical Affairs strategy plan

Provide medical leadership for scientific communications, including core scientific statements, standard responses, Phase IV plans, medical symposia, medical education activities and publications

Provide medical input and advice into development of commercial campaigns, where applicable and ensure that timely support and accuracy for Medical Copy Clearance is accomplished for all CSL Seqirus\'' vaccines, in UK and Ireland

Scientific Oversight of UK and Ireland Phase 4 studies: work with external experts and cross functional team to ensure Phase 4 studies for the region are completed to agreed timelines and budget.

Serve as authoritative source of clinical expertise on CSL Seqirus vaccines including primary responsibility for interaction with regulatory agencies for clinical product maintenance activities.

People Management

Manage and develop field and office based medical team within the Influenza and other vaccines therapeutic area and/or geography including hiring, training, evaluation and motivation, in alignment with CSL Seqirus\'' corporate values, medical strategies and objectives. Provide strong leadership to motivate the team and achieve outstanding results that align with department goals.

As a member of the Regional Medical Affairs leadership team, work together to ensure consistency and compliance in medical decision-making and systems and processes for CSL Seqirus

Implement and oversee compliant medical processes sign off promotional materials and management of Investigator-initiated clinical studies for UK and Ireland.

Develop, monitor and accountable for the UK and Ireland Influenza and other vaccines Medical Affairs budget

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

A degree in the Sciences, such as an MD; PhD; PharmD; DrPH; or DSc

Minimum 7-10 years\'' experience in Pharmaceutical industry

Experience in driving the medical strategy of products with excellent working knowledge of regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance, research and clinical development programs

Extensive experience with industry promotional codes and procedures

Knowledge and understanding of drug development processes with specific expertise on vaccines

Superior technical medical knowledge regarding influenza vaccines and pandemic vaccines

Strong ability to critically review business plans and make recommendations

Advanced scientific and/or medical degree with relevant or related experience preferably in vaccinology, infectious disease epidemiology, vaccine clinical development and medical affairs.

At least 10 years of experience in medical affairs scientific activities

Ability to interact with KOLs and Government officials dealing with immunization programs/vaccine policy and vaccine recommendations at the highest levels.

Demonstrated experience in leading a matrixed team.

Demonstrated ability to lead across diverse cultures and geographies.

Significant cross-functional leadership/management experience. Demonstrated excellence in leadership behaviour.

Knowledge of immunization programs and an established network of KOLs within the vaccine field and relationships with established academic institutions

Knowledge of the commercial and environmental issues that drive development vaccine projects.

Demonstrated ability in the design, initiation, and reporting of clinical studies as part of an integrated clinical plan.

Proven ability to influence and succeed through others and to form excellent relationships with key cross-functional stakeholders.

Documented ability to take a relevant vaccine or vaccine-preventable disease project from start to end including conception, design, protocol, analytic plan, implementation, analysis, and reporting and interpretation of results.

Able to review, evaluate, interpret, and present complex data; understand the emerging safety and efficacy profile of CSL Seqirus Influenza vaccines

Understand the critical data elements related to assessing the public health value of Influenza vaccines, ability to oversee or conduct public health analyses of Influenza vaccine impact, and ability to interpret data and data limitations for both CSL Seqirus and competitor Influenza vaccines.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills including scientific writing skills

Proven ability to influence and succeed through others and to form excellent relationships with key cross-functional stakeholders.

Demonstrated strong work ethic, and proven track record of delivering high quality within timelines.
