About the Job
We're looking for an experienced and driven Project Manager with a mechanical engineering background to lead the delivery of wastewater infrastructure projects. This is a hands-on role with a high level of responsibility, where you'll manage the full project lifecycle — from planning and execution to completion — ensuring safety, quality, and commercial targets are met.
As part of your key responsibilities you'll:
• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of wastewater projects from start to finish.
• Manage site operations, ensuring full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Oversee the design and implementation of temporary works in line with engineering best practices.
• Ensure adherence to CDM 2015 Regulations, acting as Principal Contractor or Principal Designer as required.
• Collaborate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Monitor budgets, forecasts, and commercial performance, identifying and mitigating risks.
• Prepare and manage project documentation including RAMS, programmes, progress reports, and handover packs.
• Provide technical input on mechanical systems such as pumps, pipework, valves, and treatment equipment.
• Lead and mentor site teams, promoting a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
About You
• Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience managing projects in the wastewater or water treatment sector.
• Strong knowledge of temporary works, CDM regulations, and site management.
• Commercially astute with experience in budgeting, procurement, and contract management (e.g., NEC).
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Valid CSCS card, SMSTS, and First Aid certification.
• Full UK driving licence.
