Job Title: Research Scientist - ProteinWorking Location: BracknellRate: 18.41 per hourContract Length: 12 months We are looking for a hardworking, motivated individual who is quick to learn and apply themselves to join our dynamic, collaborative and industrious protein production team. This is a one-year contract to support the delivery of a critical protein production process. This role offers the opportunity for the successful candidate to gain hands on experience with an array of downstream processing techniques including protein chromatography and membrane filtration methods.Role profile and expectations:Work as part of a protein production team to deliver gram quantities of purified recombinant protein to support one of Syngenta''s critical commercial projectsProvide hands-on support during this large-scale protein production campaignLearn and conduct the necessary analytical methods to validate final outputs meet defined specificationsAccurately record results to agreed company standardsPrepare technical reports, present findings within project groups and be an active communicator within the wider Syngenta scientific communityWork safely and with due care to others ensuring compliance with company HSE policies Essential education and experience:Bachelor''s degree in relevant science e.g. Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical or other similar disciplinesGood theoretical understanding of recombinant protein expressionGood theoretical understanding of chromatography technique
