Shift: Mornings & Afternoons (Weekly Rotation)
Salary: Up to £38,000 (including shift allowance)

We are seeking an experienced CNC Grinder to join our precision engineering team, supporting the manufacture and repair of aerospace components. This is a hands-on, high-precision role requiring a background in surface or cylindrical grinding within a quality-focused environment.

 

• Set up and operate CNC grinding machines for high-precision aerospace components
• Interpret and work from complex engineering drawings and specifications
• Perform surface, cylindrical, and form grinding on a variety of materials
• Conduct in-process inspection using micrometers, bore gauges, and comparators
• Adhere to tight tolerances and ensure parts meet strict quality standards
• Maintain accurate production records and route cards
• Contribute to continuous improvement and lean initiatives on the shop floor
• Follow safety protocols and work within ISO 9001 / AS9100 compliance frameworks

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a CNC or precision grinder
• Experience with both CNC and manual grinding machines (Studer, Jones & Shipman, etc.)
• Proficient in using precision measuring instruments and self-inspection
• Comfortable handling small and medium-sized components (lifting aids available)
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a production team
• Strong attention to detail, with a focus on quality and repeatability
