Paediatric Audiologist

Overview
Paediatric Audiologist role at NHS within Barts Health NHS Trust. Travel to all Barts Health sites (Hackney Ark and Royal London Hospital among others). Training will be provided to the right candidate.Responsibilities
Provide a quality audiological assessment of children with hearing difficulties, addressing the referrer and patient concerns.Carry out a full range of audiological tests and procedures in line with national professional standards, local protocols and the patient’s clinical strategy.Obtain informal consent from the patient or carer and perform routine, advanced or specialised audiological procedures as required.Liaise with patients, carers, clinicians and other service users as needed.Qualifications
Essential
BSc Audiology or equivalent qualification (e.g., BTEC in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement) and completion of BAAT I and II (or equivalent).Registered to practice as an Audiologist with RCCP or equivalent.Theoretical and practical knowledge of paediatric audiology and advanced test techniques.Awareness of national audiology and NHS developments.Evidence of CPD.Desirable
MSc in Audiological Science plus CAC/CCC or STP in Audiology.Eligible/registered as a clinical scientist with HCPC or RCCPAdvanced courses in audiology; BSL qualifications; Deaf awareness qualifications; membership with BAA and/or BSA; diploma/postgraduate certificate in management.Experience
Essential
Paediatric audiology experience, including behavioural assessment and rehabilitation.Desirable
Experience with area(s) of speciality within audiology or administration; senior clinical leadership; leading change; ongoing postgraduate qualifications.Knowledge
Essential
Theoretical and practical knowledge of paediatric audiology and advanced test techniques.Safeguarding awareness for vulnerable children; understanding clinical governance.Desirable
Awareness of national audiology and NHS developments.Details
