Supply Desk is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Hemel Hempstead this September. This is a full-time teaching position, ideal for a motivated educator who is passionate about literature, language, and developing studentsandrsquo; communication skills.

Job Description:

• Deliver engaging and challenging English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 for the right candidate.
• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons that cater to a range of learning styles and abilities.
• Assess, track, and report on student progress in line with school policies and national curriculum expectations.
• Create a stimulating classroom environment that promotes a love of reading, writing, and discussion.
• Contribute to the English departmentandrsquo;s curriculum development, enrichment activities, and school-wide literacy initiatives.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to raise attainment and support student achievement.
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively and create a positive learning environment.
• Participate in staff meetings, CPD sessions, and school events as part of the wider school community.

Our ideal candidate will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be an ECT with a specialism in English.
• Have a strong subject knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for English language and literature.
• Be passionate about helping students develop literacy skills that are essential for academic and personal success.
• Demonstrate excellent classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate learners.
• Be proactive, well-organised, and committed to continuous professional development.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents to support learning and progress.
• Hold or be willing to obtain a clear Enhanced DBS check.
