Here''s your chance to be at the heart of it all.We are open to speaking with ideally Principal/Senior or Experienced Overhead Line Design Engineers in relation to exploring future opportunities in line with our growth strategy to join our Transmission and Distribution team, with roles to be based in any of our UK offices.As an Overhead Line Design Engineer within our team, you will be involved in delivering a wide range of OHL projects – producing and reviewing technical documents in line with industry standards. This role involves developing design criteria, conductor selection, structure type selection, insulation coordination, and lightning performance assessments.You will develop typical OHL design deliverables, including line schedules, plan/profile drawings, staking tables, and crossings design. You will conduct feasibility studies to assess project viability and coordinate with other disciplines such as civil and structural engineering to ensure project integrity.It’s an exciting time to join Stantec’s Energy team as we enter a growth phase. More information about Stantec’s Energy and Resources Division can be found at the link below:Stantec Energy Transition - UKAbout YouYou will ideally hold a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, or Civil Engineering, or have industry experience if coming from a hands-on/construction background. CEng, IEng registration, or working towards it, would be beneficial.You should have experience as an Overhead Line Design Engineer or similar role working on Transmission and Distribution projects, preferably for a Design Consultant, Contractor, or Asset Owner. Experience with PLS-CADD for new and existing OHL designs and familiarity with UK design standards are required.Additional beneficial skills include understanding HV Plant, HV Cable, or TandD Civil design. A broad background with a specialization in OHL is preferred.You should have experience developing OHL deliverables and managing workload across multiple projects.
