Quantity Surveyor / Freelance QS (Groundworks / Civils) Location: Watford, with projects across the UK Rate: £350 £450 per day (negotiable, depending on experience) Contract: Long-term freelance The Role A leading groundworks and civil engineering subcontractor based in Watford is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to take full commercial ownership of multiple projects. Working on the groundworks and civils elements of modular construction schemes across the UK, this role offers autonomy, long-term stability and the chance to join a growing business with a strong order book. Responsibilities Manage all commercial and financial aspects of groundworks and civils projects Track costs, variations and monthly valuations Prepare and review subcontractor accounts and contract documentation Produce cost forecasts, reports and financial summaries Support procurement and tendering of subcontract packages Work closely with site and operations teams to ensure projects run to budget and programme Requirements Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in groundworks or civil engineering Strong commercial and contractual knowledge Confident managing variations, valuations and subcontractor payments Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to sites across the UK Why Join Long-term freelance contract with ongoing work and job security Strong pipeline of groundworks and civils projects for modular
