The Conference and Events Manager will report directly to the Venue Manager.Please note: The candidate must currently reside in the UK and be able to work in the UK without sponsorship.What You’ll Do:The Conference and Events Manager is responsible for ensuring the success of all programs while maintaining a profitable operation and high-quality products and service levels. The Conference and Events Manager is expected to share ideas to promote business; reduce employee turnover; maintain revenue and payroll budgets; and meet budgeted productivity while keeping quality consistently high.Supervise and set up the culinary service quickly and efficiently for participants and ensure that it follows The Program Execution OrderSupervise the service team and support staff including setup, utilities, maintenance, and securityCoordinate culinary service between the culinary team and service teamKeep culinary informed of accurate countsReview menu/service with production and culinary teamsEnforce all rules and regulations and ability to carry out all safety and emergency programsMonitor all beverage consumptionFollow all health and safety regulations and ensure sanitation and cleanliness of service areasWhat We Look For:Minimum of 2 or more years of progressive experience in a conference center or a related fieldPrevious supervisory responsibility preferredStrong knowledge of service standards, and different service typesKnowledge of food and beverage preparation techniques, health department rules and regulations, liquor laws and regulationsBe involved in and/or conduct ongoing training of service specialists to maintain standards of serviceManage opening and/or closing inspection dutiesMaintain service cleanliness in front and back of the siteEnsure positive overall client satisfactionAbility to interact with guests and/or associates in a courteous, empathetic, and discreet mannerAdhere to basic hygiene procedures and grooming standardsFlexible and long hours sometimes requiredMove, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistanceReach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
