My clients are looking to appoint a

Senior Quantity Surveyor

on a permanent basis. The role is to be based at their regional office in Leeds, but the candidate will need to travel to site 2-3 times a week on the East Coast. My clients'' projects include housing, extra care and retirement living projects.Key Accountabilities

Provide commercial support to site and project managersMonitor and update costs of projects by reviewing monthly financial forecasts against the actual costsSubcontractor procurement and management from inception to completionValuation, certification and / or approval of payments to Sub ContractorsProvide guidance to operational team on the cost estimation process and awareness of contract requirementsReport directly to clients and managers.Present valuation reports and cost estimationTender and negotiate contractsEstimate the target costs and budget pricesPrepare lump sum bids and compile enquiry documents for competitive bidding. When favourable bid received, prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantitiesPreparation of contract documentsContributes to training and developing Apprentice / Trainee / Assistant Quantity SurveyorsExperience and Qualifications

HND Quantity Surveying or equivalentDegree in QS or equivalent - desirableMinimum 5 years working as a Quantity Surveyor with good working knowledge of construction processes - essentialExperience of having worked on a variety of contracts (e.g. JCT, NEC contracts) or sector specific equivalentClear understanding of contractual terms and conditions both sub-contract and main contractProficient in the use of MS OfficeValid UK driving LicenceValid CSCS cardOn offer
