Role - Street Cleansing Operative Hours - 6:30-14:30 - Monday - Thursday - Friday 2pm finishRate - 12.59 Overview: We are currently looking for street cleansing operatives to work in Barnsley. This is an out and about role weeding, maintaining paths and cleaning streets. You will be working in all weathers. Key ResponsibilitiesDrive vehicles (with/without trailers, ride-ons) and operate machinery/equipment safely.Complete daily vehicle checks and report any faults promptly.Carry out general operational and occasional specialist duties in all weather conditions.Perform basic maintenance and ensure security of vehicles, tools, and premises.Lock/unlock buildings as required.Monitor remote fuel stores and maintain adequate stock levels.Provide excellent customer service when interacting with the public.Work to set schedules, responding flexibly to changing priorities.Follow all Health and Safety, customer care and council policies.Complete electronic records and use ICT systems as part of daily duties.Candidate RequirementsEssential:Valid UK driving licence: Category B/B+EExperience of working independently and within a team.Experience in grounds maintenance or similar operational environment.Strong understanding of Health and Safety.Ability to operate tools, machinery, and equipment relevant to the role.Effective communication and customer service skills.Able to interpret verbal, written, and electronic instructions.Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to support col
