Camden The AMHP will play a key role in carrying out statutory Mental Health Act (MHA) assessments and ensuring appropriate interventions for individuals experiencing acute mental health crises. Working within a multi-disciplinary team, you will assess risks, explore alternatives to detention, and coordinate with key stakeholders to provide the most suitable care pathways. Key Responsibilities: Conduct MHA assessments in various settings, including individuals'' homes, hospitals (AandE), police stations, and other places of safety. Determine the necessity of detention under the MHA, ensuring compliance with legal frameworks such as the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS). Work collaboratively with medical professionals, social workers, and community mental health teams to develop person-centered intervention plans. Liaise with service users, families, and nearest relatives to ensure their views and rights are considered. Provide expert guidance and consultation to professionals on complex mental health and safeguarding cases. Work within the Camden AMHP Duty System, participating in planned and emergency MHA assessments. Maintain accurate case records in line with council and NHS policies, ensuring compliance with safeguarding protocols. Ensure out-of-hours emergency support as part of the Emergency Duty Team (EDT) when required.
