Prospero Teaching is looking for a dedicated Teacher / Exams & Access Arrangements Assessor. The college is seeking someone who is passionate about supporting neurodivergent learners and improving inclusive learning practices. The ideal candidate will be confident in assessing students for access arrangements, providing specialist support, and working collaboratively with staff to ensure students achieve their full potential.

Hours 9:00 am 4:30 pm, Monday Friday

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

Degree or equivalent qualification
Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE / DET / QTS)
Recognised qualification for assessing Specific Learning Difficulties
Experience supporting and assessing neurodivergent learners
Experience analysing and using student progress data
Experience assessing student progress and providing feedback
Experience raising or maintaining student attainment

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Assess students and apply for exam access arrangements where required
Carry out screening and diagnostic assessments and produce reports
Provide guidance and strategies to teachers and support staff on supporting neurodivergent learners
Plan and deliver individual learning programmes and interventions
Deliver 1:1 sessions and workshops for students on Level 2 and Level 3 courses
Monitor and evaluate student progress and provide feedback to staff
Support learners in developing study skills and effectively using access arrangements
Raise awareness of neurodiversity across the college through training, advice, and guidance
Work closely with the Additional Learning Support team and other staff members
Attend staff meetings, training, and contribute to college development

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE YOU MUST:

Hold the Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or be willing to process a new application
Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
Demonstrate strong communication and ICT skills
Be able to build positive relationships with students and staff

OTHER

The successful candidate will support the colleges inclusive ethos and commitment to equal opportunities. All staff are expected to follow safeguarding procedures and participate in training as required.

The role may involve contributing to pastoral support, supporting student progression (including UCAS guidance where required), and helping students prepare for public examinations.

Any adult working with children and vulnerable young people is responsible for safeguarding and protecting their welfare.
