As a Corporate Commodity Sales professional in the Corporate Commodity Sales team in London, you will lead client interactions and drive the execution of commodity trades within the energy sector. You will work closely with a diverse range of clients, including utilities, consumers, refiners, and upstream organisations across natural gas, power, carbon emissions, oil, and refined products. You will help shape our sales strategy and enhance our client offerings. Together, we foster a collaborative and inclusive environment where your contributions make a difference.Responsibilities
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients, providing tailored OTC solutions in the energy commodities spaceOversee the trade execution process, ensuring accuracy in trade booking, order taking, and compliance with regulatory standardsMentor junior team members in best practice for trade executionAnalyse market trends and drivers to identify new business opportunitiesDevelop and implement strategic sales initiatives that align with market conditions and client needsPartner with trading, research, corporate banking, and risk management teams to deliver comprehensive solutions to clientsFacilitate effective communication between departments to enhance client serviceLead efforts to refine and optimise the sales process, including our e-platform offeringEnsure efficiency and effectiveness in client interactions and trade executionProvide guidance and support to junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and professional growthMonitor sales performance metrics and prepare reports for senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities for improvementRequired qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Significant experience (ideally 8+ years) in commodities sales, with a focus on energy and OTC solutionsAbility to analyse complex market data and trends to inform strategic decisions and client recommendationsExcellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts clearly and effectivelySolid leadership qualities with a collaborative mindset and experience mentoring junior colleaguesDeep understanding of client needs and the ability to deliver exceptional serviceAdvanced proficiency in analytical tools and knowledge of credit risk related metricsMeticulous attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliancePreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Experience working with clients across multiple energy sectors, including natural gas, power, carbon emissions, oil, and refined productsFamiliarity with e-platform sales solutions in commodities tradingProven ability to develop and implement strategic sales initiativesExperience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a global organisationProfessional qualifications from reputable training institutes or professional bodies in commodities or financeDemonstrated success in optimising sales processes and driving efficiencyThis role encompasses the performance of UK regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting UK regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the UK Financial Conduct Authority and/or the Prudential Regulation Authority to carry out such activities.About Us
