Design and Build Technical Manager - Retrofit and Cladding (Long-Term Contract)We''re working with a specialist contractor delivering complex retrofit and façade remediation projects. They''re looking to appoint a Design and Build Technical Manager on a long-term contract to take ownership of technical coordination across multiple live and upcoming schemes.The role is primarily based in East London, with travel to Nottingham every other week for site and project meetings. Travel and accommodation will be fully covered.Location:

Manage the full technical design process from planning through to completionCoordinate design consultants, specialist subcontractors, and temporary works designersReview drawings for buildability, compliance, sequencing, and cost efficiencyOversee technical approvals: materials, warranty bodies, fire regulations, and structural interfacesLiaise closely with site, commercial, and delivery teams to ensure smooth handoverSupport value engineering and programme improvementsRequirements

Background in retrofit, cladding, façade remediation, or similar DandB project typesProven experience within a contractor environment in a technical or design manager roleStrong working knowledge of Building Regulations, NHBC, and temporary worksAbility to manage technical queries, resolve design issues, and ensure complianceComfortable operating in a fast-paced, hands-on contractor settingThis is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing contractor on a long-term contract, supporting high-profile retrofit and cladding schemes while enjoying a hybrid working structure and regular site involvement.
