Children''s Social Worker

We are looking for an experienced and committed Children''s Social Worker to provide critical support to our team based at Mercury House, Richmond. This is a short-term, office-based assignment covering the recruitment process within the Children and Young People''s Service.About the RoleYou will play a pivotal role in safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children and young people, working directly with families, professionals, and multi-agency partners. You will be expected to manage complex cases, including child protection and court proceedings, while delivering high-quality assessments and interventions.North Yorkshire Council operates under a defined practice model, grounded in systemic principles, Signs of Safety, and family-seeing methodology, promoting collaborative and strength-based approaches to social work.Key Responsibilities:Deliver statutory social work services to children and families in line with legislation and best practice.Manage a varied caseload, including child protection and court cases.Undertake assessments and develop outcome-focused care plans.Work closely with families and partner agencies to ensure child safety and wellbeing.Prepare and present high-quality court reports and attend hearings as necessary.Record all work to a high standard and in a timely manner.Requirements:Qualified Social Worker (Social Work England registered)Minimum 3 years post-qualified experience within children''s social careExtensive experience in child protection
