Tax Manager – Build a Tax Function in a High-Growth International BusinessOxford-based | Up to £85,000 | Hybrid WorkingA high-growth international business is seeking a hands-on, adaptable Tax Manager to establish and lead its tax function from scratch. This Oxford-based role offers a unique opportunity to combine compliance and strategic advisory work within a rapidly expanding environment.The Opportunity
This is a greenfield, highly visible position responsible for the full spectrum of direct and indirect tax matters—both in the UK and internationally. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring timely and accurate filings as the company enters new markets, including those where in-house expertise is currently limited.Key responsibilities include advising on tax structuring, market entry, and long-term planning, as well as collaborating with local finance teams and external advisors. There will also be the opportunity to bring some outsourced compliance work in-house as the function develops.Key Requirements
Broad experience covering both direct and indirect tax, ideally gained within international and high-growth settings.Applications are encouraged from candidates with backgrounds in practice (including MandA and international advisory) as well as those with in-house experience.Comfortable working at both senior and junior levels, with a hands-on approach and enthusiasm for building new processes.Ability to work independently and adapt within a fast-changing business environment.Compensation and Location
Salary up to £85,000 (recently reviewed to attract top talent).Hybrid working: based in Oxford, with three days per week required in the Oxford office. Candidates from London or with a manageable commute will also be considered.The Team and Environment
