Role Overview : We are looking for an experienced and proactive Technical RandD Project Manager to join our dynamic product development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalising RandD projects related to new product development, from initial concept through to manufacturing handover. You will lead cross-functional teams, manage project resources, mitigate risks, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to budget, ultimately contributing to Heatmiser''s market-leading product range.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with RandD, product management, and other stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, technical specifications, and deliverables for new heating control products and featuresCreate comprehensive project plans detailing tasks, timelines, resource allocation (hardware engineers, software/firmware developers, testers), dependencies, and budgets using appropriate tools and methodologiesLead and coordinate project activities, track progress against milestones, manage changes to scope/schedule/cost, and ensure adherence to Heatmiser''s product development processesManage and motivate cross-functional RandD project teams, fostering collaboration and effective communication between hardware, software, firmware, testing, and potentially external partnersProactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, particularly technical challenges inherent in RandD, and manage issues through to resolutionServe as the primary point of contact for assigned RandD projects, providing regular status updates, reports, and presentations to stakeholders, including senior managementEnsure project deliverables meet required quality standards and align with relevant industry regulations and compliance requirementsContribute to the continuous improvement of Heatmiser’s RandD and project management processesOversee the creation and maintenance of comprehensive project documentation throughout the product development lifecycle. As well as overseeing DfMEA and DVP creation and executionFoster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing within the RandD team

Qualifications

Bachelor''s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical fieldAPM, PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, CAPM qualificationsProven track record of successfully delivering complex RandD projectsStrong understanding of RandD processes, product development lifecycle, and innovation methodologies

Competencies

Ability to align RandD initiatives with business goals and long-term innovation strategySkilled in identifying, assessing, and mitigating technical and project risksExperience managing project budgets, forecasting costs, and optimising resource allocationStrong technical writing skills for preparing project documentation, regulatory submissions, and internal reportsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities
