Mechanical Fitter (Shutdown) Acorn by Synergie is recruiting Mechanical Maintenance Technicians on behalf of our prestigious client, Vale Europe, at the Mond Nickel Refinery in Clydach, Swansea for a 5 month shutdown contract.Celebrating over 120 years of operation, the Mond Nickel Refinery is one of the world''s leading nickel refineries. Owned and operated by Vale Europe, part of one of the largest global mining companies, this is a fantastic opportunity to work in a stable, safety-driven, and world-class engineering environment.Key DutiesPerform scheduled and unscheduled mechanical maintenance.Respond to plant breakdowns during working hours and as part of an on-call rota.Work with a wide range of mechanical systems and equipment including pumps, motors, conveyors, belts, and drives.Machine basic engineering parts using lathes, milling machines, and centre bores.Maintain a strong focus on health and safety compliance.Wear Breathing Apparatus and work in confined spaces or at height, as required.RequirementsCompleted a recognised apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering.Demonstrable experience in a heavy industry or manufacturing environment.In-depth knowledge of rotational and mechanical equipment.Competent in basic machining operations.CCNSG Site Safety Passport (essential).Full UK driving licence.Willingness and ability to work in confined spaces and at height.Flexible to participate in an on-call rota.What We Offer5 month contract, long hours and premium overtime rates.
