Quantity Surveyor Award-winning National Main Contractor Ministry of Defence Projects Permanent: Up to 80,000 (DOE) Based in Basingstoke We are currently searching for a Quantity Surveyor who is interested in being part of a major Ministry of Defence scheme in Reading. This scheme is part of a larger framework spanning across 4 years, with the potential for further extension. The project consists of a combination of new build and refurbishment schemes, forming part of a wider defence infrastructure programme. The new build elements will include a variety of structures such as office buildings, storage units, and ancillary buildings, constructed using a mix of steel frame and reinforced concrete (RC) frame methods. Refurbishment works will involve upgrades to existing facilities, including internal reconfigurations, MandE enhancements, and fabric repairs, all delivered within live operational environments. The Role: Manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost reporting in line with MoD requirements. Administer NEC/JCT contracts, ensuring compliance with security and procedural standards. Lead procurement of subcontractors and suppliers, including tendering and negotiation. Evaluate and process subcontractor applications and payments. Handle change control, compensation events, and variations. Prepare and agree interim valuations and final accounts. Ensure adherence to MoD-specific commercial, security, and reporting protocols.
