Experienced Teaching Assistant - SEMH - Bath
About the Role As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you ll work as part of a dedicated team providing tailored emotional, social, and academic support to pupils with additional needs.You will: Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, promoting emotional regulation and resilience. Implement trauma-informed practices to create a safe, nurturing learning environment. Support individuals and small groups with both learning and social development. Use de-escalation strategies and consistent routines to manage challenging behaviour. Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to deliver holistic support plans. Encourage independence, confidence, and positive engagement in learning. Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am 3:30pm, term time only. About You We re looking for someone who is: Experienced in working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs. Knowledgeable and confident in applying trauma-informed and attachment-aware approaches. Patient, empathetic, and resilient able to stay calm under pressure. Adaptable and collaborative, with excellent communication skills. Committed to helping every pupil build confidence and achieve their full potential. Experience working in a specialist or alternative provision setting is highly desirable. Requirements To be considered for this role, you must: Hold (or be willing to apply for) an Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service.
