Senior Project Manager - Data Centers

Overview
Turner and Townsend is seeking Senior Project Managers to join the Data Centre team in London. You will be responsible for leading and supporting large-scale, ground-up data centre construction projects with prominent technology clients across Europe, overseeing all aspects from inception through commissioning.Responsibilities
Advising at a strategic level at the project conception stage, including guidance on approaches to achieve the client’s objectivesLeading the establishment of overall project success criteria (time, cost, technical and performance parameters)Planning for and managing quality, safety, health and environment issuesEstablishing effective project governance, processes and systems to be used throughout the projectProject planning and ensuring the production of the detailed project planAdvising on procurement of resourcesLeading and facilitating the cross-functional project teamMonitoring and applying performance management techniques, including KPIs to improve project performanceManaging the change control processMonitoring and advising on project financesManaging the flow of project information between the team and the client through regular meetings and written communicationsEnsuring the production of formal project progress and other reportsTaking a leading role in interfacing with the client and other consultants at all project stagesOther responsibilities, including:
Staff management (where appropriate)Knowledge management — inputting key information and learning from each project into the internal databaseFinancial management — ensuring prompt client invoicing and monitoring project financial statusProcess improvement — identifying and acting on ways to improve internal systems and processes
Qualifications
Construction consultancy experience strongly preferredMinimum 5–10 years project management experience, preferably in digital/data centresProfessionally qualified in construction, project management, engineering or architectureChartered status or on the path to achieving itThorough understanding of the total project life cycle from conception to post-project reviewExcellent knowledge and experience of main project management concepts, tools and techniquesDesign, management or construction experience in general construction environments (residential, office, fit-outs, health and education)Excellent written and verbal communication skillsAdditional Information
