— Frazer-Nash Consultancy is recruiting for a Business Manager covering our Defence Intelligence and AI activities, with a focus on Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL) as a major client for AI and Innovation. The role is hybrid with the option to work from all UK office locations. Salary: £75,000 - £90,000 depending on experience. The Business Manager will grow a portfolio of profitable work with Defence Intelligence and research organisations and will work with the Market Group Manager to develop strategies to grow the sector across our Consultancy and Ventures lines, utilizing the Capability team across all CADMID cycle phases. You will collaborate with Capability, Delivery and Strategy functions to identify capability and capacity growth areas and potential new services for existing clients. You will be responsible for relationship management with clients, act as sales and BD lead, manage bids and maintain relationships to deliver for clients while expanding the business.
Responsibilities
Contribute to the strategy of the business.
Work with existing technical delivery teams in the development of our services towards the needs of clients.
Oversee business development planning and associated activities.
Develop and maintain close working relationships with a network of clients in your sector.
Identify, characterise and capture opportunities to deliver the business.
Work with resource managers to identify, secure and maintain the skills and experience required of your clients.
Requirements
Market knowledge of the Defence sector, with key relationships across client bases, the supply chain, and knowledge of competitors.
Significant commercial experience and business acumen, having secured and led large-scale contracts for multiple clients and built diverse subcontractor supply chains.
Highly effective communicator able to operate across the business to support the whole company strategy.
