A forward-thinking primary school in the Eltham area of Greenwich is looking to appoint a confident Primary Class Teacher to join their team from September 2026.

The school is known for its strong focus on academic achievement and pupil development, particularly in Upper KS2. Staff work collaboratively to ensure pupils are well-prepared for the transition to secondary school, with a clear emphasis on high standards in reading, writing and maths.

The leadership team is supportive and visible, and the school has developed a structured curriculum with shared planning across year groups to reduce workload and promote consistency.

The successful Primary Class Teacher will take on a Year 6 class, guiding pupils through their final year of primary education.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering engaging and well-structured lessons aligned with the National Curriculum
• Preparing pupils for end-of-year assessments in a supportive and balanced way
• Tracking progress and adapting teaching to meet individual needs
• Creating a focused and positive classroom environment
• Working closely with colleagues to plan and share resources

The school is seeking a Primary Class Teacher who:

• Holds QTS and has recent experience teaching in KS2
• Has a strong understanding of Year 6 expectations and assessment
• Maintains high expectations for behaviour and attainment
• Is organised, reflective and committed to improving outcomes
• Works well as part of a team

Previous experience teaching Year 6 or Upper KS2 is highly desirable.
