Mechanical Design Engineer Scotland - Relocation assistance available £35,000 - £60,000 depending on experience Cubiq have partnered with a global engineering company assisting with expanding their Mechanical Design team across all levels, these roles will be based out of Dundee, Scotland. You will work on high-speed media handling systems used in secure self-service products. What you will do Produce 3D models and detailed drawings for complex mechanical systems Develop and optimise feeding, transport, stacking and drive mechanisms Apply stress, tolerance and materials analysis to meet performance targets Lead design reviews and fault analysis with cross-functional teams Validate designs through prototype build and structured testing Release engineering changes with full documentation and BOM accuracy Support supplier tooling and manufacturing processes What you need Around 5 years experience in complex electro mechanical product design Experience with designing outer casings or intricate mechanisms is highly desirable Strong CAD capability in ProE, Creo or SolidWorks Solid understanding of drive systems, mechanisms and motion control Hands on experience with stress and tolerance analysis Practical understanding of DFM, DFA and change control Able to manage multiple design work packages Clear and direct communication skills Degree in Mechanical Engineering Experience with rapid prototyping and mechanism testing rigs would be useful.
