Early Years / Nursery SEN Teacher
I am working with an Special Needs School in Wakefield seeking a caring, creative, and dedicated Early Years / Nursery SEN Teacher to join our team and support children with Special Educational Needs in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
This would be a Full time role
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate practitioner who believes every child deserves the best possible start in life and is committed to helping children develop confidence, communication, independence, and a love of learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated learning activities tailored to individual needs.
- Support children with a range of SEN, including speech and language needs, autism, developmental delay, and social/emotional needs.
- Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
- Work closely with parents, carers, therapists, and external professionals to support each child''s development.
- Observe, assess, and record children''s progress in line with EYFS requirements.
- Develop and implement personalised learning and support strategies.
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
- Contribute to EHCP reviews and support planning where appropriate.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Early Years qualification, or equivalent relevant teaching qualification.
- Experience working within Early Years and/or SEN settings.
- Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and inclusive practice.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Patience, empathy, and a child-centred approach.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
