Clinical Lead - Care Home

Location: Brackley, Northamptonshire

Salary: -50,000

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Lead to join a high-quality care home team. You will work closely with the Home Manager, nurses, and care staff to ensure the delivery of outstanding clinical care, strong governance, and a safe, person-centred environment for all residents.

This is a key leadership role where you will take responsibility for clinical standards, staff support, and continuous improvement, ensuring care consistently meets and exceeds regulatory expectations.


Key responsibilities

  • Lead and support the nursing and care team to deliver high-quality clinical care
  • Oversee day-to-day clinical practice within the home
  • Ensure care plans are accurate, person-centred, and regularly reviewed
  • Promote best practice in nursing, dementia care, and complex needs support
  • Support staff through training, mentoring, and clinical supervision
  • Contribute to clinical audits, governance, and quality assurance systems
  • Ensure full compliance with CQC standards, safeguarding, and DoLS/MCA requirements
  • Support infection control, medication management, and risk assessments
  • Work closely with the Home Manager to drive continuous service improvement
  • Act as a calm and effective decision-maker in clinical situations

Skills and attributes

  • Strong clinical background with confidence to lead a nursing/care team
  • Previous senior care or leadership experience (e.g. Senior Nurse, Deputy, or Team Leader)
  • Ability to make sound clinical decisions under pressure
  • Passion for high-quality, person-centred care
  • Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills
  • Good working knowledge of:
    • CQC regulations
    • Safeguarding procedures
    • DoLS / Mental Capacity Act
    • Clinical audits and governance frameworks

Qualifications

  • NMC Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN/RNLD)
  • Relevant post-registration clinical experience
  • Leadership or management experience within a care setting is desirable
