An exciting opportunity has opened for a
CAMHS Clinical Specialist
within an Early Help Team (Tier 2) focused on supporting children and adolescents experiencing mental health difficulties. This is a
fixed-term maternity cover
post suitable for experienced mental health professionals seeking to make a positive impact within a diverse London borough.Key Responsibilities
Conduct initial assessments and provide treatment tailored to professional background and training.Manage your own caseload of children, adolescents, and families with mild to moderate risk concerns.Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to set and review therapeutic goals.Support team members by ensuring evidence-based practices are followed and performance metrics are met.Collaborate with services such as Social Care, Education, Child Health, and Adult Services.Contribute to team audits, evaluations, and research related to CAMHS interventions.Provide clinical support to Band 6 CAMHS practitioners.Candidate Profile
Qualifications (Essential)
Registered professional qualification (e.g. RMN, RSCN, OT, Social Work, Art/Drama/Music Therapy).Registration with a UK statutory body (NMC, HCPC, BPS, ACP, UKCP).Qualifications (Desirable)
Clinical supervision training or qualification.Skills
Strong therapeutic engagement and intervention skills with children and adolescents.Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.Reflective practice and adaptability.Knowledge
Understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, and mental health legislation (MHA, MCA).Culturally competent and inclusive care delivery.Experience applying therapeutic models such as CBT, Family Therapy, or PBS.Experience
Significant experience in CAMHS settings working with complex mental health cases.Experience working with neurodevelopmental conditions (e.g., autism, ADHD).Previous participation in therapeutic group facilitation (desirable).Familiarity with electronic patient records and accurate documentation.Additional Requirements
