Project Manager
Our client is one of the most exciting and emerging residential focused SME building consultancies in London & Southeast are seeking to hire an independently capable Project Manager to initially develop and then lead / manage a key private client(s). They continue to build on their successes year on year and have rightly earned an outstanding reputation within the luxury residential consultancy arena!
Now employing circa 35 staff, but within a close-knit Project Management team of eight, they’ve carved out specialist client base in the prime residential sector (high net worth individuals and investors) with high end projects all over London including Chelsea, Hampstead, Mayfair and private estates in the Home Counties & Cotswolds. A significant amount is listed buildings too. Projects are typically between £1-30m, either heavy refurbishments or bespoke new build schemes working alongside top rated architects.
Subject to performance and business growth, within the forst 12 months, their intention for you is to progress within the PM team. Our client will put a Personal Development Plan in place (at the outset) to set goals and targets, however the scope for progression and development includes:
- Establishment of role and assuming PM-lead duties on a selection of existing projects
- Introduction to existing clients and network
- Progressing RICS Assessment (if required)
After 12 months, our client will again, subject to performance and business growth, progress you within the wider business. As part of their PDP, progression will include:
- Technical Development – providing support and mentorship through the APC process on on-the-job learning. Regular CPD sessions arranged and internal lessons-learned workshops held.
- Project Lead – Once established, look for you to take ownership of a range of projects (typically 3 or 4 projects) being the lead person, liaising with clients and professional teams as appropriate, and supporting more junior members of staff with their progression.
- Business Development and Networking – reaching out to internal network/client base and being introduced to existing network, seeking opportunities in alternative sectors as well as existing, setting up/attending networking activities as appropriate.
Applicants wishing to apply must have immediate eligibility to work in UK and have a minimum of 3 years UK project management consultancy experience to date. Our client would prefer a Chartered professional (MRICS) but will consider very relevant experience however applicants MUST have MSc or BSc degree in Surveying or Project Management - UK RICS accredited. (unfortunately our client is unable to hire those requiring either relocation or immediate VISA support)
Key personal criteria include being technically proficient, highly personable, articulate and presentable. Applicants should also have good, competent IT software skills. It''s preferable that applicants will have a full UK drivers’ licence too.
