Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ODP plays a crucial role in the surgical environment, providing high-quality care and support to patients undergoing surgical procedures. This position requires a strong commitment to patient safety, teamwork, and effective communication within the operating theatre. Responsibilities Prepare and maintain the operating theatre before, during, and after surgical procedures. Assist in the administration of anaesthesia and monitor patients'' vital signs throughout surgery. Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists, and nursing staff to ensure optimal patient care. Maintain sterile conditions and adhere to infection control protocols at all times. Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients pre- and post-operatively. Participate in the cleaning and sterilisation of surgical instruments and equipment. Document patient care activities accurately in accordance with hospital policies. Engage in continuous professional development to enhance skills and knowledge within the field. Skills Strong understanding of surgical procedures and anaesthesia techniques. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
