Civil Engineer
Location: Birmingham
Salary: -35,000 - -45,000 plus benefits

I am recruiting for a Civil Engineer to join a respected consultancy in Birmingham delivering residential and commercial development projects. This is a strong opportunity for a Civil Engineer with solid drainage and infrastructure design experience who wants progression within a supportive, well established civil engineering team.

This Civil Engineer role focuses on private and adoptable drainage design from concept through to technical approval. As a Civil Engineer, you will work closely with senior staff, contribute to S38, S278 and S104 submissions and build valuable client-facing experience. You will liaise with clients, local authority officers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth coordination across all project stages.

Key Responsibilities
* Produce detailed foul and surface water drainage designs using MicroDrainage or InfoDrainage
* Prepare S38, S278 and S104 technical submissions
* Create engineering drawings using AutoCAD with PDS or Civil 3D
* Liaise with clients, council officers and internal design teams
* Support feasibility studies, technical reports and project documentation
* Contribute to planning coordination and quality assurance activities
* Develop technical capability through project-based learning and structured training

About You
* Degree qualified Civil Engineer or related discipline
* Three to four years UK experience in drainage and highways design
* Confident using AutoCAD, PDS or Civil 3D, and MicroDrainage or InfoDrainage
* Strong communication, numeracy and problem-solving skills
* Comfortable managing multiple projects in a consultancy environment
