Contract: JUNE 2026 - On going supply
Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday (term time only)
Setting: SEMH Secondary School KS3 (Also suitable for a Primary Trained teacher)

About the Role
An inclusive SEMH secondary school in Derby City is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teacher from June 2026. You will support pupils with SEMH needs, helping them regulate behaviour, build confidence and re-engage with learning.

The school provides a structured, nurturing environment with small classes, strong pastoral support and an experienced team.

Key Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs across KS3 and 4

• Deliver behaviour management and de-escalation strategies

• Provide 1:1 and small-group learning and emotional support

• Implement behaviour plans and risk assessments

• Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing and engagement

• Uphold safeguarding and welfare procedures

The Ideal Candidate
Calm, resilient and nurturing, with experience supporting SEMH or SEN pupils. Confident managing challenging behaviour and building strong relationships.

Essential Requirements

• SEMH/SEN/PRU or alternative provision experience

• Trauma-informed and restorative practice knowledge

• Strong behaviour management skills

• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)

• Right to work in the UK
