Utility Engineer

at either

Principal

or

Senior

level to join our dynamic team.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering comprehensive utility consultancy services for development projects. This position requires a proactive approach to assessing utility requirements, managing relationships with service providers and ensuring the successful execution of utility strategies.

What You’ll Be Doing

Conduct load assessments to determine utility service capacity requirements for gas, water, and electricity.Evaluate the need for disconnections and diversions due to new developments and road layouts.Collate existing utility company service record drawings and obtain ''as fitted'' drawings of the site where applicable.Undertake below-ground utility location mapping to identify existing services and potential conflicts.Develop detailed load schedules and produce multi-utility services drawings that present a site-wide utilities strategy.Obtain firm quotations from relevant utility suppliers for proposed works and manage commercial negotiations with network operators.Review and analyse information to provide technical insights and considerations for project development.Collaborate with clients to understand their sustainability aspirations and incorporate these into the overall energy strategy.Identify opportunities to remove constraints from sites and propose alternative solutions as needed.Maintain exceptional relationships with utility operators and engage directly to facilitate project requirements.

Who We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.Proven experience in utility consultancy or a similar engineering role.Strong understanding of utility services, including gas, water, and electricity.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with clients and utility providers.Proficiency in relevant software and tools for utility mapping and design.
