The Role:
TeacherActive is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Outreach Tutor to work with a school in Basildon. This role involves supporting students who are unable to access mainstream education, delivering tailored sessions either within the school setting or in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver personalised learning sessions to students outside of the traditional classroom environment

• Support students with a range of needs, including SEND, SEMH, and those at risk of exclusion

• Build strong, positive relationships to re-engage students with education

• Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning styles and needs

• Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to the school and relevant professionals

• Promote confidence, independence, and emotional wellbeing

Requirements:

• Experience working with children or young people, ideally in education or outreach settings

• Strong behaviour management and engagement skills

• Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule

• A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach

• Relevant teaching or tutoring qualifications are desirable but not essential

• An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
