An exciting opportunity has arisen for an

Apprentice Speech and Language Therapist

to join Whittington Health NHS Trust. This is a

development role over four years

where you will work towards the successful completion of a

BSc (Hons) Speech and Language Therapy

and recognition by the

Health Care Professions Council (HCPC)

as a Speech and Language Therapist (SLT).You will develop and maintain the knowledge, skills, and competencies required for the role of an SLT through the degree apprenticeship training program and within the clinical service. This includes working across

acute settings

such as adult inpatient wards, paediatric inpatient wards, outpatient clinics, and the specialist voice clinic. You will also be involved in the delivery of

direct, person-centred care . Throughout the apprenticeship, you will be a fully integrated member of one of the Trust''s acute SLT teams.The SLT Apprenticeship Degree combines academic and work-based learning through collaboration between employers and education providers. As an Apprentice SLT, you can expect to spend a minimum of

20%

of your time on ''off the job'' training, with the rest working within one of the SLT Teams. Attendance at university is essential, and annual leave should be arranged outside of training sessions.Main duties of the jobPlease see the Job Description and Persons Specification for more details.
