The Medical Research Foundation has been funding medical research for more than a century and since 2011 we have focused exclusively on funding vital medical research in underfunded areas, giving hope to people with overlooked health conditions. Our purpose is to fund life-changing research that improves health and transforms lives. We fund the most important medical research questions of our time, respond quickly to emerging health needs, and support scientists whose discoveries can change the future. We remain centred on funding emerging research leaders and research that will have an impact on people’s lives.We are now looking for a Director of Voluntary Income and Engagement to join our Executive Leadership Team at an exciting stage in our journey. This is a unique opportunity that combines fundraising and communications to inspire more people to support us and grow our voluntary income and impact.Our current strategy runs to 2029 with an ambitious target of reaching £8m per annum in voluntary income by 2034. We are seeking a creative, ambitious and thoughtful leader with a proven track record of driving transformational income growth and engagement, contributing to organisational strategic direction, and leading high-performing teams.To find out more and apply for the role please visit:

Lead voluntary income and engagement strategy and activities in order to grow income and engagement aligned with the organisation’s mission.Drive transformational income growth and higher engagement through innovative fundraising and communications approaches.Contribute to organisational strategic direction and lead high-performing teams within the function.Collaborate with Executive Leadership Team to shape overall strategy and ensure delivery against targets.Qualifications and Experience

Proven track record of leading fundraising growth and community engagement in a similar sector.Strong leadership skills with experience managing high-performing teams.Strategic thinker with the ability to translate strategy into operational plans and measurable results.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.We’re unlocking community knowledge in a new way.
