Job Title: School Support Worker
Location: Aylesbury
Salary: andpound;90 andndash; andpound;120 per day
Contract: Full-time
Start Date: Easter 2025

About the Role:

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)£ We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Support Worker to join our team in a nurturing school environment. You will play a key role in supporting students with diverse learning needs, helping them to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide tailored 1:1 and group support to students with SEN, including those with autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and other additional needs
  • Assist the teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons, adapting materials and activities to meet individual student requirements
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment, encouraging student participation and independence
  • Implement EHCP (Education, Health, and Care Plan) targets and strategies, working closely with the SENCO and teaching staff
  • Support students with personal care, where necessary, ensuring dignity and respect at all times
  • Help manage classroom behaviour using positive reinforcement and de-escalation techniques
  • Encourage communication and social interaction, supporting students in developing essential life skills
  • Liaise with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure consistent and effective support for each student
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the SENCO and teaching staff

About You:


  • Experience working with children with SEN, either in a school or care setting (desirable but not essential)
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting children with additional needs
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to ensuring the well-being of students
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Health andamp; Social Care, or SEND-specific training) are desirable but not essential
  • A willingness to undertake further training and development
