Teaching Assistant

We are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Alternative Provision in Stockport. This rewarding role involves supporting children and young people with complex needs, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges, and behavioural difficulties.
The Role:
Providing classroom-based support to pupils across a range of subjects.
Delivering targeted 1:1 support to students who require additional assistance.
Building positive relationships that encourage engagement, confidence, and personal development.
Supporting pupils to manage their behaviour and emotions effectively.
Working closely with teachers and other professionals to implement individual support strategies.
Promoting a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with children or young people with additional needs, SEMH, or behavioural challenges.
A calm, patient, and resilient approach.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
The ability to remain positive and professional in challenging situations.
A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners to achieve their full potential.
