Site Manager - Edinburgh

Working Hours Site hours but typically Monday – Friday 07.30-17.00Location TBCOUR COMPANYKilmac are a leading Civil Engineering contractor with offices in Dundee and Dunfermline. The company is employee owned which allows us to reward our employees from profit year on year for their part in its success.POSITION SUMMARY AND PURPOSEThe role will be to make sure that our civil engineering project is being delivered safely, within budget and to agreed standards. Ensuring all plant, labour, and material on site under your control is properly organised and managed. Build positive relationships with our client’s construction teams.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIESImplement the strategies required by the Contracts Manager.Arrange adequate resources for project delivery, safety, and standards of work.Monitor safety, liaising with Contracts Managers, the Health and Safety team and site staff as required.Monitor the competence of site staff and sub-contractors in line with Kilmac policies and procedures on safety.Oversee all aspects of site management on your sites, regularly visiting to inspect, offer support and adherence to agreed program/ quality and building regulations.Manage effective communication between site and office.Work to develop, mentor and train others alongside HR Officer.Implementation of commercial strategies and liaising with the Commercial team.Ensure contractual obligations are recognised and adhered to.KEY SUCCESS FACTORS/PREFERRED EXPERIENCEAt least 3-year experience manging large scale civil engineering projectsBuilding related competency / Project Management Certificate is desirableSMSTSFirst Aid at WorkTemporary Works Coordinator / SupervisorEffective oral and written skills.Ability to write short- and long-term programmes.Production of RAMS.Ability to manage all health and safety to the highest of standards.Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.Very strong organisational skillsAbility to use a tablet/ basic computer and have good knowledge of most Microsoft products and systems.Reliable and diplomatic.Driving license.WORK ENVIRONMENTThe job operates from site.HOW TO APPLYIf you are interested in working with one of the largest engineering contractors based in Scotland then send your CV/Cover Letter to hr@kilmac.co.ukPlease note if you are shortlisted, you will be contacted within 7 days of receiving application.
