We’re a small, hard-working team of dedicated womenswear specialists driven to get contemporary, high quality product to our customers. What you''ll be doingAs an Assistant Buyer for Debenhams you''ll be innovative, driven and will thrive in a fast-paced environment. You must be passionate about menswear, not afraid to challenge ways of working or thinking and bring a positive and can-do attitude to your role every day. You''ll be responsible for driving the success of the department, adapt quickly to a new environment and work closely supporting the Buying Manager and Senior Designer with all tasks. You will enjoy the opportunity of a new challenge and tackle tasks head on with speed and precision, whilst acting as the heartbeat of the department.

More about you

Previous experience working in fashion buying, either at Assistant Buyer of Buyers Admin Assistant level.

You consistently manage your workload effectively, trusted to make actions without prompt

Your approachable to your whole team and external parties and always ready to help and support acting as a role model for junior members

You accept feedback and are willing to adapt personal approach to achieve better communication as well as increased communication with senior management

You’re a keen learner and always push yourself to find out more about the business industry and company

Your super adaptable and find it easy to switch it up when the business needs

You can delegate and share workload to the team effectively

Your always ahead at spotting trends and commercial wins for the business

If we believe you could be a great fit for the role, we’ll invite you for an informal conversation via phone or Microsoft Teams with our Talent Acquisition Manager.

If successful, you’ll then meet with the Buying Manager at Debenhams House to discuss your experience in more detail and explore the value you can bring to the team.

Most of our hiring processes consist of two stages. You will meet with the Buying Manager to present a response to a brief - You may also be asked to meet with Senior Leadership

We will conclude the process after this stage and feedback soon after your final meeting with a final decision.
