Chef Wanted – Join the Team at Ninewells, Dundee

 

Location: Ninewells Drive, Dundee, DD1 9SY

Rate of Pay: £13.93 per hour

Working Hours: Thursday and Friday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (15 hours per week)

Contract Duration: 12 weeks

 

We’re currently seeking a Skilled Chef to support our catering operations within a healthcare setting. Based in Ninewells Hospital, this is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a committed team delivering high-quality meals to patients, staff, and visitors.

 

Your Role Will Include:

Preparing, cooking, and serving a variety of dishes, following standardised recipes and NHS nutritional guidelines.

Ensuring hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety standards are consistently upheld across all kitchen areas.

Monitoring food quality, portioning, and presentation to ensure satisfaction and compliance with dietary requirements.

Handling and storing supplies safely and efficiently.

Supporting the induction and ongoing training of kitchen staff.

Accurately maintaining records, reporting hazards, and following Health and Safety, HACCP, COSHH, and infection control procedures.

 

What We’re Looking For:

Experience in a professional kitchen environment, preferably within healthcare or similar catering services.

Knowledge of food hygiene, dietary standards, and health and safety procedures.

A team player with excellent time management and a proactive approach.

Willingness to participate in ongoing training and performance reviews.
