Position: Label Finishing Operator / Rewinder:

Location: Croydon

Salary: -25k - -28k (DOE)

Working Hours / Shift Pattern:

This role operates on a two-shift rotation from Monday to Friday:

• Morning Shift: 05:50 - 13:25
• Afternoon Shift: 13:25 - 21:00

On Fridays, shorter shifts apply:

• Morning Shift: 06:00 - 12:00
• Afternoon Shift: 12:00 - 18:00

Day to day duties of a Label Finishing Operator / Rewinder:

As a Label Finishing / Rewind Operator, you will operate finishing and rewinding machines to inspect, slit, rewind, and prepare printed labels for delivery. The role involves ensuring high-quality finished reels, correct quantities, and compliance with job specifications while supporting efficient production.

Key Responsibilities of a Label Finishing Operator / Rewinder:

• Operate rewind and label finishing machines.
• Inspect printed labels for defects, colour variation, misprints, or damage.
• Slit and rewind label rolls to customer-specified widths and quantities.
• Remove defective labels during inspection.
• Label and package finished reels correctly.
• Set up machine parameters such as tension, speed, and alignment.
• Maintain accurate production records and job sheets.
• Perform basic machine maintenance and cleaning.
• Follow health and safety procedures within the production environment.

Skills and Experience required for the role:

• Experience in label finishing, or packaging production.
• Knowledge of rewinding, slitting, and label inspection processes.
• Strong attention to detail to detect print defects.
• Ability to read job tickets and production specifications.
• Basic mechanical knowledge of production machines.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
