SYSTRA has over 10,300 colleagues globally and around 1,000 in the UK and Ireland and is seeking the very best talent to join the team.ContextAs a Bid Manager you will play a key role in contributing to the expansion of the business in the UK and Ireland by leading and managing prequalification activities and tenders from initial notification to successful delivery to the Project Director.You will build relationships with internal teams, clients, consultants and contractors, translating their challenges into opportunities for business development. You will own and drive day-to-day interactions with SYSTRA teams, clients and stakeholders in the UK and Ireland to deliver bid/tender documentation on time, secure an economically advantageous tender, and achieve a successful contract award.Missions/Main Duties
Develop opportunities for proposals, judging pricing, manpower, area of activity, etc., to keep SYSTRA Limited focused on high quality, profitable work and the desired market positioning.Consider commercial and proposal activities in engineering to maximise profit and enhance SYSTRA Ltd.’s reputation with key clients.Engage with clients on each opportunity to ensure a thorough understanding of current and future needs.Review preliminary bid documents to recommend go/no-go decisions aligned with business strategy to maximise success probability.Lead the bidding process for identified engineering opportunities and bids, ensuring all contractual and technical conditions are understood.Develop winning proposals in line with the approved bid programme and budget.Interpret client engineering requirements and lead responses, coordinating resources from other international SYSTRA offices as needed.Create and maintain a register of new opportunities and identify ways to build on current successes; provide KPIs and reports as needed.Draft key elements of bid responses with support from colleagues, ensuring commercial requirements and risks are considered and mitigated.Produce financial models and the SYSTRA Business Income Statement in line with finance requirements.Collaborate with the legal team to ensure contractual, legal and insurance issues are addressed.Profile / Skills
Essential
Proven track record of successful bid/proposal delivery with a solid understanding of commercial and contract terms.Experience delivering bids in the engineering / rail / energy sectors.Ability to understand client needs and translate them into concrete technical solutions.Desirable
Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to work with cross-cultural teams in different time zones.Ability to make decisions under time pressure.Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel) and InDesign (preferred).Professional approach with the ability to motivate others.Good engineering and technical knowledge with the ability to learn quickly.Self-motivation with excellent personal time management.Seniority level
