Overview

We are seeking a Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist for an innovation project to develop a therapeutically informed social work intervention model across Adopt London’s support teams. The role will focus on enhancing the quality and consistency of social work practice and provide a high quality clinical psychology offer. There is a strong emphasis on trauma-informed and relationship based practice. This role offers the opportunity to develop and utilise skills outside of direct 1:1 therapy (although there will still be opportunity for this).There will be opportunities to provide case consultation with social work teams and wider networks, deliver training and workshops to support therapeutic thinking and practice, co-deliver therapeutic parenting groups and provide a brief intervention model to families. The post will be supervised and supported by the Lead Psychologist for the project. The role is based in Ealing, with some travel across London; hybrid working is supported and encouraged.The team values a committed, empathic and trauma-informed approach to the work with children, their carers, families and the professional network. Applicants should be keen to facilitate service development, be open to developing new ways of working, demonstrate flexibility and adaptability, and be willing to practice in a collaborative way. A key skill is offering consultation to develop reflective thinking and sharing complex psychological knowledge in an accessible way. The post includes delivering training and skills development sessions for social workers, supporting therapeutic parenting approaches, developing psychologically informed plans and collecting and presenting qualitative and quantitative evaluation data. The Adopt London West Team has been trained in Dyadic Developmental Practice (DDP) and the post holder will be expected to attend this and other trainings to support attachment and trauma-informed practice, as well as offering a range of other interventions to support a therapeutically informed social work model. This is a varied role offering opportunities for service development, leadership and working with teams around adopted children, young people and their families. Provide case consultation with social work teams and wider networks to support reflective practice and clinical decision-making.Deliver training and workshops to support therapeutic thinking and practice for social workers and other professionals.Co-deliver therapeutic parenting groups and provide a brief intervention model to families.Develop and utilise skills outside of direct 1:1 therapy, including consulting on cases and contributing to service development.Develop psychologically informed plans and collect and present qualitative and quantitative evaluation data.Attend and participate in Dyadic Developmental Practice (DDP) training and other available trainings to support attachment and trauma-informed practice.Provide supervision and be supported by the Lead Psychologist and Principal Clinical Psychologist.Qualifications and Experience

Registered Clinical Psychologist with high level specialist expertise in trauma-informed and relationship-based practice.Experience delivering training, consultation and facilitation to social work teams or multidisciplinary networks.Ability to communicate complex psychological concepts in accessible ways and to work collaboratively within teams and across services.Willingness to travel across London and work in a hybrid arrangement.Location and Working Arrangements
