Mechanical Test Engineer – Fixtures & FEA

Location: Aldershot / Farnham (Hybrid)
Duration: 6 Month rolling
Rate: Competitive (Outside IR35)

About the Role

We are seeking a Mechanical Test Engineer to join our engineering team. The role will focus on the design and validation of vibration test fixtures, to ensure robust and reliable testing solutions for next-generation technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop vibration test fixtures and associated hardware for durability and qualification testing.

• Perform FEA to validate fixture strength, stiffness, and vibration performance.

• Support planning and execution of vibration, durability, and environmental test campaigns.

• Analyse and interpret test results, correlating with FEA outputs where appropriate.

• Produce clear technical documentation and validation reports.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Test Engineer / Validation Engineer in automotive, aerospace, or related industries.

• Hands-on expertise in vibration test fixture design and build.

• Strong proficiency with FEA tools (e.g. ANSYS, Abaqus, SolidWorks Simulation).

• Good understanding of vibration, fatigue, and structural validation methods.

• Ability to work collaboratively across design, development, and validation teams.
