About the role
The Low Carbon Senior Finance Advisor reports to the
Senior Finance Manager – Wind, Solar and Geothermal , and sits within a small, agile team supporting bp’s Low Carbon technologies—Offshore Wind, Solar, and Geothermal. The initial focus of this role will be on the Jera Nex bp offshore wind JV. This is a business-facing finance and commercial role, supporting the Senior Finance Manager across four key areas:Commercial strategy, development assessment and investment decision supportJoint venture management and operational oversightBusiness planning and governancePandL delivery and performance optimisationWhat you will deliver
Supporting/leading the development of bp’s commercial and finance strategy and direction for both bp operated and Non Operated Low Carbon business includingReviewing JV materials before supporting/leading the developing bp’s commercial response and positionInfluencing key internal and external stakeholders through the develop of insightful briefing documents and/or presentationsLeading commercial evaluation / analysis of activities working closely across internal and external stakeholders including JV partners before providing key insights and recommendations.Working closely with bp functional and technical teams, to develop an integrated and wholistic (commercial, technical, regulatory, etc) view of any business prospect to ensure business decisions based on sound business cases.Developing an in-depth understanding of the value and performance drivers of the Low Carbon businesses providing insights and analysis of in-year and long-term business delivery.Supporting commercial evaluation for multiple business development and MandA activities across the Low Carbon portfolio.Supporting JV and bp internal reporting requirements as requiredSupporting delivery of PandL, including finding opportunities to bring efficienciesProviding inputs, challenge to business / functions on effectiveness of their plans and strategies, risks and mitigations.What you will need to be successful
Essential experience and job requirements:Demonstrated experience in commercial, finance roles or equivalent rolesCommercial savvy and capability to facilitate JV and partner relationshipsAn understanding of the business model, value drivers, and market dynamics for Low Carbon businessesStrong analytical skillsStrong knowledge of financial and economic modelling, including bp EEMAble to explain a spectrum of complex issues in simple ways, and in writing clear and concise briefing for executivesAbility to influence beyond formal reporting linesClear and concise communicator – able to build awareness and support of the wider Finance and Business communityDesirable skills:Knowledge of the offshore or renewables industryExperience working with joint ventures and knowledge of the NOJV processWhy join us?
