Credit Manager – Property Development FinanceThe Company:An established, highly successful, and rapidly growing FinTech. Recognized as one of the UK’s top 100 fastest-growing technology companies in the Sunday Times Tech Track 100 for two consecutive years.Role Purpose:As a Credit Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the credit quality of new loans using the Company’s Credit Models and Policies, ensuring lenders do not take undue risk with their capital. Extensive development finance knowledge and experience are essential for success in this role.Role Responsibilities:Adhere to a Sanction Limit according to the Company’s sanctioning matrix.Assist the Head of Credit in developing and recommending commercial loan objectives, policies, and practices, establishing internal controls and policies for Board approval.Ensure all new Credit reports comply with the Company’s Credit Policies and guidelines.Report and recommend actions to the Head of Credit regarding any exceptions.Advise on concentration risks and suggest mitigants for new business opportunities.Identify shortcomings in policies, processes, and procedures, recommending improvements.Stay informed on current rates, activities, and regulatory issues, incorporating them into sanctioning decisions.Ensure daily risk controls are followed.Conduct pre-application discussions with Relationship Directors to assess appetite.Participate in Deal Forum and Borrower Review Forum meetings.Respond to pricing requests within Service Level Agreements.Review Sighting Papers and Credit Reports, providing reasons for approval/decline or alternative terms.Address lender questions via the website QandA.Coordinate with the Deal team to ensure timely loan progression to drawdown.Verify loan agreements for compliance before release.Ensure all conditions precedents are met before drawdown.Attend relevant departmental meetings to promote credit knowledge.Maintain post-deal monitoring for development loans.Provide redemption figures and loan statements.Attend client meetings as appropriate.Support and train new relationship staff.Skills and Knowledge Required:Extensive property development funding credit experience.Ability to make informed decisions on new deals.Awareness of broader business context and a commercial approach.Strong decision-making skills.Good communication skills internally and externally.Understanding of how credit issues impact the wider business.Attention to detail and accuracy.Excellent organizational skills and personal responsibility for workflow.Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.GCSE level education or equivalent.Experience in an FCA-regulated environment.Experience in similar financial services roles.Excellent knowledge of loan, security, and financial documents.Future and Rewards:Join a stable, growing business with a relaxed, enthusiastic, team-oriented atmosphere.Career progression opportunities as the business expands.Competitive salary based on experience, plus bonus, pension, healthcare, life cover, and other benefits.
