About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in WS6. This is a long-term opportunity working closely with a pupil who requires consistent, tailored support throughout the school day.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a genuine difference, providing both academic and emotional support to help a child thrive in a classroom setting. You will play a key role in building trust, promoting engagement, and supporting the pupils individual learning journey.

Key Responsibilities

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
Provide dedicated one-to-one support to a pupil with additional needs
Adapt learning materials and approaches to suit the pupils individual needs
Support with emotional regulation, behaviour, and engagement
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow support plans
Encourage independence, confidence, and social development
Help maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:
Experience working with children with SEN, ideally in a 1:1 setting
A patient, calm, and nurturing approach
Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
The ability to remain consistent and resilient in a classroom environment
A proactive attitude and willingness to support where needed

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for this role, you must:
Have the Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply
Be able to provide two professional, child-related references covering the last two years
